Oregon CL fliers picnic at the Zoot Ranch

Mehama, Ore., Sept. 2, 2023

We had a great time at the Zoot Ranch with plenty of food and flying.

The fare included barbecue hamburgers with all the fixings and plenty of salads, sides and desserts, yum! The flying was mostly just drilling holes in the sky with sport and Stunt planes. However, Chris Nicholls did get in one very long flight with his Carrier plane doing some low-speed practice flying.

The weather was very pleasant with calm air and not-too-hot temperatures. The big question was about the thunderstorm forecast for the afternoon. About the time the last folks were packing up to leave some rumbling started.  The skies got dark then rain and hail hit about one hour later. Talk about perfect timing!

In attendance were Terrence & Valerie Bardue, Mark & Lisa Crouse, Don & Margaret Dotter, Roy and Joan DeCamara, Mike & Laura Hazel, Bob Lewis, Steve Lindstedt, Niels Madsen, Chris Nicholls, Doug Powers, Dave Shrum, and Gary Weems.
